Eight.Year.Old.Abbigail.

Abbigail turns 8-years-old this month and she was ready and willing when I asked to take pictures of her when we were at her birthday party. Although it was during a January in Minnesota, there was only a little snow, and about 30 degrees. For us Minnesotans, it was a beautiful winter day! The bitter cold has since set in. I was so impressed with Abby. We walked around by her house and she was ready with a pose wherever we went!

Baby Rose ... {4MonthsOld}

When my sister-in-law Angie asked me to take pictures of her 4-month-old daughter, I said yes, of course and was so excited....and then came the anxiety. Not only did I have to take pictures inside (which I have only attempted once before) but I have never worked with a baby before. So the props, backdrops, poses, etc. were all new for me and I was scared! I researched and researched poses and lighting suggestions before that day. When the day came, she lasted about 10 minutes before the tears came and she zonked out for the night. I got a few pictures, but not enough. Our other niece had her 8-year birthday party 5 days later, so I packed up what I could with my "frugal" backdrop stand made of pipes :) We got a few more but there were a lot of willing assistants (all 5 years or younger) so that session didn't last long either. While not perfect...it was a good learning experience and I hope Angie loves the pictures.

{My baby is 2 years old!!!!}

I can't believe my little Isabelle is already 2 years old. I have no idea where the time as gone. I remember when she was so small and would just sleep all day. Wow. Now I don't think she ever stops talking! She even talks in her sleep!

I miss her dearly every day at work, and I treasure every weekend I get to spend with her. It is so hard to miss a lot of her day, but the time I get with her is the absolute best part of my days.

Although I am a city girl and am trying to get her to like a lot of "girly" things, Frank has already gotten her brainwashed into farm-mode. I always joke that I want her to be prom queen, and he says she can be the dairy princess. Oh geez. Anyways, since she HATES taking pictures (of course) I tried bringing her to a few of her favorite places around our farm and her grandparent's farm to at least try to get a few genuine smiles from her. Although she isn't looking in the camera in most of the pictures...I am in love with every one. And even though I am a little biased, I think she is the most beautiful girl in the whole wide world.

Happy New Year!

2011 gave me some of the best moments of my life. In addition to the MANY milestones my beautiful daughter had met this year, she turned 2 (!)... I married the best man in the world and my best friend... We got to spend about a month with my sister's family which is the longest we have seen them ever! ... And I was able to finally start my dream of starting a photography business.

I hope that 2012 will bring my family health, happiness, and lots of time together. I hope it brings my new business growth, new clients, education, and new equipment (I am just dreaming now).

I am embarking on 2 photography adventures right away this year. I am taking part in a Project52 which is 1 picture a week with a different category every week. Also a Project365 which is just a personal picture everyday for a year. I will be posting these in their own albums on my facebook page Click here to check it out.

As far as for personal adventures, I am hoping to go on at least one trip out of the state. It would be amazing to visit my sister and her family this spring in Florida. They are also going to be in Minnesota all summer which I am looking forward to the most. We are going to do so many fun things and make a lot of memories.

While 2011 was good to me, I have high hopes for 2012.

High School Sweethearts... {Kendra and Max} ... It's Time for a Wedding!!

Kendra and Max grew up together and are high school sweethearts...those kind of love stories are my favorites! I was so excited to get to take their engagement pictures. We decided on December 29 so we could have some pretty snow scenes...well so much for that. Who would have thought that the end of a Minnesota December would be almost 30 degrees and we wouldn't even need jackets! Although we didn't get the snow, we went to a few fun places in the town they grew up in and still live. The covered bridge, Max's family's house, Holdingford school baseball/softball fields, the famous (according to my parents) Holdingford Municipal, and then had to do a little dancing in the streets!! It was a lot of fun and I wish them nothing but the best!

I wish you guys nothing but happiness!!!
